Mr. Prasanth Chandran, Director (Security & Connectivity) at the BIMSTEC Secretariat, attended the workshop on “Challenges and Way Forward on Trade and Transport Connectivity in Eastern South Asia,” jointly organized by UNESCAP and the Government of Nepal from 16–17 June 2025 in Bitramod, Nepal.

The Workshop reviewed progress in infrastructure at major land ports, digitalizing trade documentation, addressing challenges faced by small-scale agricultural exporters and strengthening private sector involvement; and explored regional cooperation and inclusive connectivity. The Workshop brought together key stakeholders from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal.
