BIMSTEC, in collaboration with the Department of Environment, Government of Bangladesh and the United Nations Office for Project Services, convened a high-level roundtable on “Accelerating Solutions for Plastic Pollution in Bangladesh and Beyond” in Dhaka on 10 July 2025.

H.E. Mr. Indra Mani Pandey, Secretary General, BIMSTEC, addressed the Opening Session, underscoring the importance of regional cooperation in tackling shared challenges of climate change and environmental degradation, including plastic pollution. The event brought together policymakers, private sector and youth with focus accelerating solutions for sustainable plastic management, promoting circular economy approaches, and strengthening regional collaboration.
