A Workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction, aimed at strengthening regional cooperation in disaster preparedness and resilience in the BIMSTEC member States is being held from 11–13 November 2025 in New Delhi. In his welcome remarks, Mr. Prasanth Chandran, Director at the BIMSTEC Secretariat, underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in disaster risk reduction and resilience.

The Workshop has brought together participants from BIMSTEC member States to exchange experiences, share good practices and explore coordinated approaches to disaster preparedness and response. The Workshop is being jointly organized by the BIMSTEC Secretariat, the National Disaster Management Authority of India, and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction.
