The Eighth Meeting of the BIMSTEC Task Force on Traditional Medicine (BTFTM) was held virtually on 6 October 2026 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It agreed on a number of key initiatives, including BIMSTEC Traditional Medicine Portal and Pharmacopoeia; establishment of the BIMSTEC Centre of Excellence in Traditional Medicine; collaborative research and innovation; and harmonisation of traditional medicine curricula. The Meeting also discussed regional cooperation on Traditional Medicine Knowledge (TMK), Genetic Resources (GR) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
